Origins and descriptions

The Leighton Education Project is a community based further education facility, funded by the Learning and Skills Council. It is for young adults aged 16 to 25 years with mild to moderate learning difficulties. It provides a bridge from adolescence to adulthood and enables them to make their own choices about the future.

With 12 students a year we are able to take a person-centred, holistic approach, enabling positive outcomes for individual students.

We do this by:

Structure of the Project

Learners attend the programme for two years from Monday to Thursday, 10.00am to 3.30pm, 39 weeks per year (we follow the Camden school term dates).

Other information

Our annual Open Day is held in May. All are welcome to come and visit. Taster sessions are also available throughout the year. We will accept self referrals.
