About Opportunities for Volunteering: Young Volunteers with Disabilities

Elfrida Rathbone (Camden) has launched a new project to support young disabled people into volunteering opportunities in north London. We are targeting anyone aged 16-30 who might have a physical or sensory impairment, learning difficulty, mental health issue, or any other kind of disability.

The volunteering opportunities are in the health and social care field as our project is funded by the Department of Health. Here are some examples of things volunteers might be doing:

We can provide ongoing support and guidance to young people in all stages of volunteering, for example:

The project is steered by a group of young disabled volunteers so that we know we're doing the right thing! If you are interested in joining the group then please get in touch with Ella (details below).

We hope to recruit some volunteer Buddies to help support people who might need ongoing one-to-one support in their placement. If you are interested in becoming a Buddy then please get in touch! We would encourage applications from disabled people.
