SEN Advocacy: Our Aim
- Our aim is that every child, whatever their need has access to an appropriate education.
- To empower parents and families to seek and obtain the support they need to make informed decisions about the education of their children.
- To support the Every Disabled Child Matters campaign.
- To enable children with special educational needs or disabilities to obtain the most appropriate education so they are able to learn, enjoy and prosper.
- To reduce the stress and financial costs that families face when confronted with the processes involved in getting support for their children and families needs. The process of identification, assessment and placement of children with SEN can be a strain on parents which we aim to support via early intervention, mediation, negotiation and face to face support.
- To work with families from groups who find it hard to access traditional advocacy services and whose children frequently do not obtain appropriate educational provision and placement.
- To reduce the rate of Exclusions, Truancy and School refusal and improve the educational attainment of those children at risk of exclusion.
