SEN Advocacy: Supporting Parents & Carers
- We can discuss your individual situation either on the telephone, via email or face to face.
- We can offer you up to date information and plan a strategy with you to get the appropriate education for your child.
- We can support you in writing letters or attending meetings with anybody concerned with your child’s education.
- We can represent you in Tribunal or Appeal hearings about your child’s education.
- Our regular drop-in sessions provide an informal opportunity to meet with our team and to meet other parents who may face similar difficulties to you.
- We run parent groups dedicated to supporting parents of children with particular needs such as autism, together with holding general groups where parents can come and talk with and listen to other families. Our parent groups also offer parents the opportunity to listen to guest speakers from various professions.
- We always welcome suggestions as to how parents feel they can be best supported.
