Creative Therapist – Fixed-term, Part-time

Elfrida Rathbone Camden is a charity that works to support independence, empowerment and involvement in the community for disabled people, children and young people, parents and families. Our services include family support, disability awareness training and social and educational opportunities for young people with learning disabilities. We currently seek an experienced Creative Therapist to engage with people with learning disabilities from our Leighton College and parents with multiple needs from our Camden Futures service through creative workshops around their emotional and mental well-being.

Hours 17.5 hours per week
Responsible to Camden Futures Manager
Closing Date 10am on 8/12/17

This role will involve:

  • The delivery of exploratory and expressive creative therapy sessions for vulnerable young people and parents with emotional or mental health support needs in 1:1 and small group settings on a weekly basis for a twelve month period.
  • Books Beyond Words sessions to allowing non-verbal methods and a safe therapeutic relationship to build self-esteem, self-awareness, resilience and confidence.

The successful candidate will have experience in empowering vulnerable people towards achieving their potential and inspiring them to develop a positive and solution focused attitude. The successful candidate will have experience and understanding of working within or to deliver community based support services.
