Volunteering and internships

Whether you want to support the work of ERC, improve your CV, further develop your skills, or just want to give something back to your community, you could consider volunteering for ERC. Don’t feel that you have to be an expert, we are always interested in people who have ideas, skills and time to share, working with others to improve services in the long term.  Volunteering opportunities with ERC can include:

  • Supporting young people with a range of disabilities
  • Offering advice to families who have children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Supporting the work of ERC by volunteering with the administration team or,
  • Joining our board of Trustees

To apply for any of the roles please complete the application form and equal opportunities form here. Please feel free to contact us on 020 7424 1601 if you wish to discuss. We look forward to hearing from you!

Could you be a Trustee for Elfrida Rathbone Camden?

While many people like to volunteer by working directly with our learners, becoming a trustee and helping Elfrida Rathbone Camden to meet its responsibilities in the long term is also a very important voluntary role. We would love to talk to anyone who can add to the knowledge, commitment and skills on our Board especially if you have a connection with the Kentish Town area, experience in the areas of education, HR, communications/ marketing, safeguarding, special educational needs and disabilities, vulnerable families or use social care services yourself.

We welcome applications from everyone with the relevant skills and/or experience, including those who consider themselves to be from disadvantaged groups, and we would be willing and able to make reasonable adjustments to best support candidates with a disability. To help achieve a better balance on our management committee we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants from ethnic minorities.  Elfrida Rathbone Camden is a member of Voluntary Action Camden and will support new trustees to attend Voluntary Action Camden training courses relating to their role.

For more information about the role, please download the role description and person specification.

To apply, please complete the ERC Trustee application form and return by email to info@elfridacamden.org.uk or via the post to Chris McAuley, Elfrida Rathbone Camden, 7 Dowdney Close, Kentish Town, London NW5 2BP.

More information on the role and responsibilities of a Trustee can be found on the website of the Charity Commission.

Please note that, in the longer term, Elfrida Rathbone Camden is looking for a new Chair of the Board of Trustees.
